With over 17 years of combined experience with curatorial oversight, project management, program development, and arts administration, Lydia offers independent consulting services for artists, municipalities, institutions, collectors, and individuals and groups within the private sector. She offers a hybrid perspective that blends the vantage point of both artist and arts administrator, and she’s exceptional at communicating with artists to bring their vision to fruition while simultaneously managing practical aspects of large scale exhibitions and curatorial projects. Her broad skillset includes: budget planning and management; indoor and outdoor visual art exhibition research, planning, and oversight; working with internationally renown visual artists and architects; facility oversight; curatorial direction; exhibition design; overseeing exhibition installation and deinstallation; grant writing; curating user experience within commercial, residential and public art spaces; liaising between contractors, subcontractors, designers, artists, and project managers; committee and advisory board leadership; developing and maintaining donor relationships and aligning their legacy vision with institutional and non-profit programming goals; public speaking; professional presentations for in-person and virtual conferences; community outreach; studio visits and site analysis; team leadership, management and support; educational arts advocacy; and innovative problem solving utilizing both macro and micro perspectives. With a network of professional contacts, she has the professional network necessary for the development, planning, and implementation of visual arts exhibitions, art advising and procurement, and fine art services related to the arts. She’s overseen more than 75 exhibitions and robust auxiliary programming that’s included artists and curators of national and international renown including Guggenheim, Joan Mitchell Foundation, and MacArthur Foundation fellows.
